Transparency & Privacy

Privacy in Leisure Shelf

Your cultural collection, ratings, and leisure habits are personal. Here is a clear breakdown of how we protect your privacy.

No accounts or registration

Leisure Shelf does not require usernames, passwords, or email addresses. You can launch the app and organize your collection immediately without surrendering personal identity details.

Library data storage

All items in your library (books, movies, series, games, music records, private notes, ratings, and loan logs) are saved locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

If you upgrade to Leisure Shelf Pro and enable iCloud sync, your data synchronizes exclusively via your private CloudKit container tied to your personal Apple ID. Mirlo Apps operates no intermediary storage servers and cannot view your library.

Catalog searches

When performing an online search, only the entered title or barcode ISBN is sent to open APIs (Open Library for books, TMDB/MOTN for movies & series, RAWG/Steam for games, and MusicBrainz for music) to fetch cover artwork and factual metadata.

These lookups do not transmit personal identifiers and are never linked to your personal profile.

Device permissions

  • Camera: Requested only when you scan an ISBN barcode on a physical book. Image frames are processed locally by the system barcode detector and are never stored or transmitted.
  • Notifications: Requested optionally to trigger local reminders for physical item loans on your designated return date. Notifications are generated on-device.
  • Photo Library: Requested only if you pick a custom photo to set as the background texture for your virtual bookcase.

In-App purchases

In-app subscriptions and purchases for Leisure Shelf Pro are handled securely through Apple StoreKit and RevenueCat. We never receive payment card numbers or personal billing addresses.
